He died 15 Mar 1754 in Nodaway Parish, Prince Edward Co, Virginia. Will of John Davidson. John was the son of William Davidson. John married Unknown 1715/1719. John married Ann SONNERS on 1738 in Amelia County, Virginia. He had the following children by 1st wife: + 2 M i. William DAVIDSON was born 1720 and died about 1808. + 3 M ii. Richard DAVIDSON was born 1722 and died 1775. + 4 M iii. Joshua DAVIDSON was born 1724 and died 5 Oct 1771. 5 M iv. Daniel DAVIDSON was born 1726 in Amelia County, Virginia. 6 F v. Elizabeth DAVIDSON was born 1728 in Amelia County, Virginia. + 7 M vi. George W. DAVIDSON was born 1730 and died 1811. 8 M vii. Ambrose DAVIDSON was born 1732 in Amelia County, Virginia.
In Prince Edward Co., VA the eldest daughter of George Ewing and Catherine Lawson Ewing, Mary, had married Richard Davidson. A Mary Davidson along with a John Davidson and a William Davidson witnessed Deed Book #6 page 354 when James Ewing, Sr. sold 150acres to Samuel Ewing (we believe his eldest son. See Chapter XXVIII). Richard Davidson was, probably, a son of a John Davidson who died in Prince Edward Co. VA and left a will dated 13 March 1754. He names sons, William, Richard, Joshua, Daniel, George, Ambrous and daughter Elizabeth. Richard Davidson was in The Revolutionary War and died on the way home to Prince Edward Co., VA in 1783. This information is from Vol. #25 of The VIRGINIA GENEALOGIST page 183 titled “British Mercantile Claims, or Claims of Spiers, Bowman & Co. at their Prince Edward Store in 1802.” Page 183 has numerous statements re indebtedness and one reads “Richard Davidson, dec £.6.10.3½ died d before 1783 and his family removed to Kentucky with sufficient estate.
