Obituary: Mulberry Gap Association 1928, p. 21:
John T. Dalton, the son of George and Lottie Dalton, was born Se[t 21. 1861. He professed faith in Christ in early life and joined the Cedar Springs Baptist Church Dec the first Saturday 1879. He was married to Miss Lida Malicoat in the year 1878, and to this union were born 4 children, one preceded him to the glory land. Afterwards he was married to Miss Jane Jackson, and to this union were born thirteen children; 8 boys and 5 girls; two of whom have precede him to the glory land.
Brother John was a loving husband and a good father and was loved by all who knew him and on the 11th day of July 1928 God who does all things well sent angels and took him from this world of trouble to that land of bliss and happiness to be with his long-gone friends. Children live so as to meet father again, weep not as those who have no hope. Sleep on father until we meet again. Though his absence makes us sorrow, and it seem so hard to bear, we await the glad tomorrow when we'll join him over there. Written by A. A. Dalton
