Mrs. Jane Dalton, daughter of William and Emaline Jackson, born December 15, 1874; passed away April 25, 1961, age 86 years, 4 months and 10 days.
She professed faith in Christ in her childhood days, and united with Dry Valley Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Cedar Springs Missionary Baptist Church September 2, 1917, where she remained a faithful member until death.
She was married to John T. Dalton, March 1890, and to this union were born 13 children - 7 boys and 6 girls: William Dalton, Hayes Dalton, Cora Laughner, Mary Myers, Emaline Dalton preceded her in death. She is survived by five sons: Bloof Dalton, Tazewell, TN; G. S. Dalton, Dandridge, TN; McKinley Dalton, Middletown, Ohio; Johnson and John Dalton, Franklin, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Mollie Laughner, Thorn Hill, TN; Mrs. Dollie Holt, Lone Mountain, TN; Mrs. Birdy Johns, Treadway; one stepson, Dave Dalton, Corryton, TN; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Alice Hedrick, Mrs. Tina Ohiner, Vincennes, Indiana; one brother, G. B. Jackson, White Pine, TN; 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Sister Dalton made friends with whom she met, and enjoyed going to church until she was in her later years. She wanted her children to go when she could not go. She loved all ministers and enjoyed their visits. We have lost a great loved one, but our loss is her eternal gain
