    1. John Croddy, born 1725, died 1808. He served in the Colonial Wars. His children were:
... a. John Croddy, Jr., married February 15, 1822 in Rockbridge County, Virginia by Rev. Samuel Houston, Polly Shaver.
... b. Margaret Croddy, married 4 January 1810 in Rockbridge County, Virginia by Rev. Samuel Houston, Garrett Peck.
... c. Elizabeth Croddy, married November 1, 1804 in Rockbridge County, Virginia by Rev. Samuel Houston, Charles Roach.
    2. George Croddy.
    3. Christina Croddy, born 1739; died after 1812; married in 1764, Jacob Cleek.
    4. William Croddy, married Polly _____.
    5. Ann Croddy, married Samuel Ginger and they are the ancestors of the Ginger family in Bath County, Virginia.

    - other research shows that Ann Croddy who married Samuel Ginger was born in 1797 and appears to be a more likely daughter of John Croddy, Jr. born in 1754. If Ann WAS a daughter of John Croddy, Sr., there would have been a nearly 60 year span between his [apparently] eldest child Christina, born in 1738/39 and Ann, born in 1797, which is highly unlikely. Several researchers on Ancestry have placed Ann as a daughter of John Croddy, Jr.
