John A. Cook, 85, Garrett RD 1, died Oct. 7, 1975 in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Southampton Township, Somerset County, Dec. 22, 1889, a son of the late Daniel A. and Mary Jane (Beal) Cook. Preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Survived by his wife Stella Long Cook and several cousins. World War I veteran, member of the American Legion, Meyersdale, also UMW of A. Friends will be received in the Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin, today, Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William N. Hay officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to favorite charities.
