I John Combs of the County of Ross and State of Ohio being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory considering the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence. Do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.

First and principally I commit soul unto the hands of the Allmighty God and [my] body to the earth to be decently buriet at the discretion of my executors here in after named And after my debts and all other charges paid and my wife's thirds taken out I devise and bequeath as follows the residue of my estate to be turned into money and that be paid out in land for my son Robert Combs where my executors shall think proper retaining as much in their hands as will school my son Robert to the rule of three or through the common rule of three Also to clear ten acres of land on said trach and fence the same and build a cabin on Said land and the same to be under the care and direction of the under named executors until my son arrives at the age of twenty one years.

And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint Joseph Taylor and Zur Combs to be the sole executors of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament in testimony whereof I have hereunto set as and affixed seal this 2nd day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine.
