"1. John² Chatfield, son of George¹ and his second wife, Isabel (Nettleton), was born at Guilford, Conn., 8 Apr. 1661, and died at Derby in 1747/8. He settled in Derby, and married there, 5 Feb. 1684/5, Anna Harger, … daughter of Jabez and Margaret (Tomlinson). The will of John Chatfield, dated 12 Apr. 1739 and proved 7 Mar. 1747/8, names his wife Anna, his sons John, Samuel, Ebenezer, and Solomon, and his daughters Mary Beats, Sarah Davis, and Abigail Johnson.
