John Chase, s/o Samuel Chase and Hannah Emery, b. Newbury (now West Newbury) 25 Mar 1740, d. 5 Jul 1811, m. Newbury 16 Feb 1762 Ruth Hills. Lived in Hampstead, Chester, Haverhill, Littleton and Sunapee [presumably his death location?] (all in New Hampshire).

A listing of Colby Cemetery in Sunapee, NH, has the following inscription given by Ethel Norris (documented in 1918) that can no longer be found: "Chase, John, died July 4, 1841, age 72 years". If one imagines 1811 being misread as 1841, this compares well with the death date reported by Chase?
