- "This Indenture made the twenty ninth Day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty three Between John Cardwell of the County of Cumberland of the one part and Francis Eperson of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Cardwell for and in consideration of the Sum of forty pounds current money of Virginia to him in had Paid the Rec't. whereof he doth . . . one tract or parcel of land containing 160 acres beginning at Pointers Jacob Magghis corner thence North twenty seven Degrees West one hundred and sixty poles to Edward Magghis corner at Pointers thence South sixty three Degrees West one hundred and forty nine poles to to John Browns corner Pointers thence South one hundred and twenty poles to pointers John Browns corner then on John Pleasants East one hundred and forty two Poles to a white Oak thence on John Scott North twenty nine Degrees East ninety eight Poles to the Beginning. . . . ."
