From Vermilion Township Records John Bustert is liable to be enrolled in the Militia June 3, 1846. His headstone reads "husband of Margaret Ann Buster". The Buster headstone in the Maple Grove Cemetary, Erie Co., OH is a big stone, and looks very new compared to the old white stones that were used in the 1850's. The top name says "Henry J. Nov 10, 1851 - Feb 14 1922" "Mary E., his wife, May 8, 1852 - May 4, 1921" The rest of the stone reads: "1818 John Buster 1851" "1824 Margaret A Barber 1896" "Daniel Barber aged 63 yrs" The rear of the same stone reads "Melissa Barber aged 2 yrs" "Chas. Barber aged 2 yrs" "Elizabeth Maloney eged 66 yrs" He was the son of Philip Buster and Mary___. Mary died Sep. 26, 1851 age 73yrs and is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in the "Township Section". The "Township Section" is the south-western corner of Maple Grove Cemetery (there is only a narrow aisle to indicate a division). This section was apparently reserved for those who resided outside of Vermilion Village limits. One stone is for the Civil War Reg't. (?Co.H.?,25th?) but has no name on it. 1850 Census The two Barbers were living with the Busters. The relationship between the Barbers and Busters is unknown; however, after the death of her husband, Margaret A. Buster married Daniel Barber in 1851 and Temperance Barber married Jackson Shoop, a brother of Margaret, in 1852.
