Facts and Events
See notes of brother Daniel showing John Braught in Co.2, Batt.9 of Lancaster Co. Militia 1781. Apparently there needs to be a return search of 1790 and 1800 Census for more data, including location of this John and of a pre-1800 David Braucht (according to data from Ruby Driskell). Adult soldiers, Daniel and John data seems fairly solid around 1780; it appears the Daniel of 1733 (PA Archives Ser.3 Vol.24, pg. 638) would be an older family member than these two (perhaps a father, Daniel Sr.?). Also, these men may have been revolutionary war soldiers mentioned in other military records as well as PA archives. Because relatives Oldenberg, McAllister, and Diller were known Rev.War soldiers from same area, those names may help locate the Rev.War Braught members' added data. Also consider Christ Lutheran Church at Tulpehocken record of 25May1792 marriage of John Adam Bracht and Ann Margaretha Sauter. And Brickerville, Lancaster Co., PA records of a Johannes Brecht b. 31 Mar 1764, died 28 Oct. 1847 (also Barbara Brecht nee: Miller born 23 Apr 1777, died 2 Apr. 1840. Trinity Reformed Church at Jackson Twsp, Lebanon Co. record marriages that seem relevant here: John Brecht and Susanna Leiss Marr.7Jun1775, David Brecht and Susanna Reber 9Feb1806, and John Brecht married Hanna Klar 24Mar1812. Although these connections are not clearly verified at present, there is strong logic to suspect that they eventually will be closely related (some could even be the same people, recalling how many men were named Johannes/John with different middle names, etc.). An Index to the Will Books and Intestate Records of Lancaster Co., PA 1729-1850; page 57 lists John Braught will in 1823 Book B vol. 1, pg 110. |
