Migrated to North Carolina circa 1753. Lived in Greenville County, South Carolina circa 1785-1807/1810. He and his brother Aquilla sold their land in South Carolina and migrated to Kentucky. A state census of Greenville County, South Carolina for 1789 lists John Brasher with 4 adult sons in his house. They were probably: John Brasher, Jr Thomas Brasher, Lawrence Brasher Henry Brasher John Brasher got a Granville Land Grant, 2 August 1760 (Granville Grant #137, Bk 14, page 348, file #392 in archives at Raleigh). This land is said to have been about 15 miles north of Mebane in a small town called Hightower and very enar the headwaters of Hico Creek. |
