VIII. John Blair of that ilk, who served heir to his grandfather James, and got a charter under the great seal from king James III. Johanni Blair de eodem, nepoti et haredi Jacobi, etc. terrarium baronia de Blair, etc. etc. in Airshire, dated 19th day of January 1477.
He left issue a son, John IX, his heir, ____and two daughters.
1. Egidia, married to James Kennedy of the family of Cassilis, which appears by a charter under the great seal, Egidia Blair relita quondam Jacobi Kennedy, annui redditus levan. De terries baronia de Dunmure, etc. dated 18th April 1515.
2. Elisabeth, married to Ninian Stewart, which appears by a charter under the great seal, Elisabetha Blair, sponse Niniani Stewart, et Roberto Stewart corum filio, terrarium de Ambriore, etc. in Bute, 15th August 1529.
He died in the reign of King James V. and was succeeded by his son, John Blair IX.
