    In the name of God Amen the 29th of August in the twentyeth yeare of the Raigne of our sovraign Lord Charles by the grace of God of Engand Scotland France and Ireland King defender of the faith and in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred sixty eight I John Bembowe of Glytrefnant in the parish of Trefeglwys and County of Montgomery being sicke & weake in body but of sound senses & perfect memory all laud & praise be to allmighty god doe make & ordaine this my last will & testament in manner and forme following, Imprimis I commend my Soule to the hands of my Redeemer by whose merits alone I trust I shall be saved, and my body to be interred in Xtian buryall in the parish Church of Trefeglwys at the discretion of Executrix herein hereafter named and as for my goods & personal estate I dispose of them as followeth first I give and bequeath unto my Eldest sonne John Bembowe [...] the summe of twelve pence Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Roger Bembow the summe of twelve pence Item I give & bequeath unto my daughter Anne the wife of John Ashton the summe of twelve pence, with said Legacies my will is that they be payd within the space of a twelvemonth after my decease, and as for the Rest of my goods cattells & chattells I give them unto Mary my well beloved wife desireing for the dispose of them carefully as she shall see needfull & convenient amongst my four younger children Edward Bembowe, Charles Bembowe, Richard Bembowe & Iuan Bembowe, and Lastly I doe nominate & appoint Mary my said wife to bee sole Executrix of this my last will & testament In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seale the day & yeare above written.
