John and Mary had no children.When he died in 1772, his wife Mary received one half of his estate.The other half, some 273 pds 14 shillings 74 pence was divided between his mother Elizabeth Trumball, his sisters Elizabeth Barnes, Mary Barclift, and half sister Sarah Commander, and his brothers Demson, Asa and Noah.
Soon after his death in 1772, Mary married Richard Pratt.
Demsey Barclift was guardian for John Barclift, orphan of John Barclift, dec'd.The inventory was proved agreeable by Mrs. Mary Barclift in 1772. Administrators of John Barclift's estate were Richard Pratt and his wife Mary Barclift Pratt.
