9 Oct 1879 Married Lavina Thompson ("Aunt Viney") after Rebecca'sdeath. Wedding announcement in the Lawrenceburg Press. They had 2children: Charles Hugh Bachelor (b 8 Nov 1880; d 29 Jan 1955; buriedBelleview, KY) and Pearl.

5 Dec 1895 Died. Reportedly buried Belleview, KY (formerly called Mt.Vernon?). I searched the tiny, old cemetery in Belleview, but couldn'tlocate his grave. There were, however, many stones that were no longerreadable or were sunk down into the earth. I suppose it's possiblethey're buried in the big, active cemetery in Belleview, but I didn't geta chance to research that. This isn't a confirmed date for our JohnBatchelor, but it seems very likely given the hunting comment & the factthat we were always told what a well-known hunter he was. Info comesfrom obituary
