John Alexander (son of Robert Alexander and Ann Fowke)1 was born 1732 in Rowan County, NC near Cabarrus1, and died 1795 in Williamson County, Tennessee1. He married Rachel Davidson on Abt. 17541, daughter of John Davison/ Davidson and Jane Morrison.
John Alexander was born in that part of Rowan County, NC wich is near Cabarrus County. He Married Rachel Davidson, John Davidson's oldest daughter. Their son James was born in Buffalo Creek in 1756. John later moved his family to Crowders Creek, near Kings Mountain, in that part of Gaston County which is now Gaston. Then came the War of the Revolution. John Alexander and his sons Thomas and James Alexander enlisted and fought in the War of the Revolution. James enlisted five times.
John Alexander was a minister, and performed the wedding ceremony of his son, James Alexander to Rhoda Cunningham..in his home in the York District of South Carolina on Allison Creek in 1781.
On January 19, 1773 ( see Tryon County, N.C. Land Warrent #1112) John Alexander bought 400 acres of land joining David Alexander and Henry Vernon.
