Facts and Events
As many other Urbana, Indiana, pioneers, "JOHN" was not really born in "BAVARIA", but probably somewhere in the 'PALATINATE'.
His parents migrated to Albany, New York, in 1851, when John was only 13 years old.
John moved to Cincinnati, Ohio as an adult. In 1861 he moved to Wabash County. He then joined Company B of the Forty-seventh Indiana Volunteers during the Civil War.
Returning to Indiana, he worked in a foundry in Indianapolis. He saved up money to buy a farm in Wabash County, Indiana. His farm was west of Urbana.
