From Tusc. Co. 1880 census records, Francis was 50 at the time, living in York Township with John Philip (51) (both were farmers), Anna E, (43)-all were single AND Cathine (no r) Benfer, widow. Date problem here, as according to records, Catherine Benfer Kuhn had died before the 1880 census. In the 1880 census, Cathine Benfer was a widow, aged 65.

Kuhn Died 16 March 1911 at the age of 82 (Source: The Daily Times) Obituary published: The Daily Times, New Philadelphia, OH 16 March 1911 OBIT:AGED STONECREEK MAN PASSES AWAY SUDDENLY TODAY John P. Kuhn, aged 82 years, died suddenly Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock of heart trouble and dropsy at his life-long home in York township near Blackband. Mr. Kuhn died on the same farm on which he was born. He was a brother of Daniel Kuhn, former county commissioner. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock in the late residence. The body will then be taken to the Jerusalem Reformed church in Stonecreek Valley, where services will also be held in charge of Rev. J.M. Rettig, pastor of the German Reformed church of New Philadelphia. Mr. Kuhn never married. He is survived only by his sister, Elizabeth A. Kuhn, with whom he lived and who is now seriously ill and not expected to live. Miss Kuhn is 75 years old. Five nephew and three nieces are also living. References
