    SCHOLTEN, Johanna A. - Funeral services for Mrs. Johanna A. Scholten, age 99, who died in Lynden on Monday, April 16, (1984) were conducted on Wednesday, April 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Jacob Dykstra officiating. Burial followed in Monumenta Cemetery. Mrs. Scholten, formerly of 206 Nooksack Ave., Lynden, was born in The Netherlands on June 25, 1884 and came to America in 1913. In 1927 she moved to the Lynden area from Minnesota and was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. She was married to her husband William in Holland on May 8, 1906; Mr. Scholten died in 1974. She is survived by three sons, Everett and wife Johanna, and Henry and wife Dorothy, all of Lynden, and William and wife Marian of Yuma, Arizona; seven daughters, Gertrude B. Scholten, Alice Bajema, Betty DeKubber, Mrs. Hattie and husband Carl Kortlever, Mrs. Lena and husband Bertus Blankers, Mrs. Johannah and husband Pete Enfield, and Mrs. Bertha and husband Jim Bosman, all of Lynden; 35 grand; 33 great-grand and ten great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.
