    SCHOLTEN, Gertrude B., formerly of the Heritage Apartments in Lynden, passed away in the Christian Rest Home on Friday, August 17, 1990. She was 83. A memorial funeral service was held on Monday, August 20, in First Christian Reformed Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Philip Kok officiating. Burial preceded in Monumenta Cemetery. Miss Scholten was born on June 7, 1907, in the Netherlands and came to the United States in 1913 and to Washington in 1927. She was one of 10 children born to William K. and Johanna (Arendsen) Scholten. She worked at one time at Whatcom Laundry. Gertrude was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and belonged to several women's groups at the church. She is survived by her three brothers, Everett Scholten of Lynden, Bill Scholten of Yuma, Ariz., and Henry Scholten of Lynden; six sisters, Alice Bajema, Betty DeKubber, Hattie Kortlever, Lena Blankers, Johanna Enfield and Bertha Bosman, all of Lynden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services and arrangements were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.
