Johann Georg Meier is included on a list of 265 Palatines (though he was a Wurttemberger) who arrived at Philadelphia 25 Nov 1740 on the Loyal Judith, commanded by Lovell Painter. It's not clear if all his children accompanied him on this original voyage.

In Aug 1744, he was one of the elders of the German Reformed Church in York, Pennsylvania. In 1753, he served as one of five trustees for the congregation in the construction of their first church building in York.
