    Adam Coon is the son of Johann "John" Gohn and Anna Rosina Crantzdorf. Adam was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in York County, Pennsylvania on on 28 April, 1743, with sponsors John Adam and Sophia Krantsdorf.

    About 1765, Adam married Anna Catherine Strayer in York County, Pennsylvania.

    In 1795, Anna Catherine was living in the vicinity of Shepherdstown, Berkeley County Virginia (now West Virginia). She was a staunch supporter of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
