Christian Coon is the son of Johann "John" Gohn and Anna Rosina Crantzdorf. He was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in York County, Pennsylvania with sponsors Christian and Elizabeth Kroll.
About 1781, Christian married Elizabeth Huntzinger in York County, Pennsylvania. She was born 21 Aug 1753 in York County, Pennsylvania and died about 1838 in Washington County, Maryland.
Christian and Elizabeth are known to have 5 children:
• Johann "John" Coon (1782–1849)
• Elizabeth "Betsy" Coon Beckom (1790-1886)
• Adam Coon (1791-1851)
• Louis Kuhn (1796–1873)
• Michael "Red Mike" Coon (1797-1854)
John, Elizabeth, Adam, Louis and Michael Coon resided in Ohio for several years starting in the 1820's and had children born in Ohio. All but Louis moved to Illinois. Louis did not move and is buried in Hocking County, Ohio. Louis eventually used the KUHN spelling as well as his descendants.
