Johannes Heinrich Kettner (John Henry Ketner), the son of Johannes & Veronica Burkhart Ketner, February was born in Germany, He was 10 years of age when his family immigrated to America. They arrived in Philadelphia on the "Charming Betty" in 1733. In 1767, Henry Ketner was listed in the Bern Township as a farmer with 60 acres, 2 horses, 2 cattle and 3 sheep. In 1779 & 1780 he is listed in the Brunswick Township with 150 acres; in the 1790 U.S. census, he is listed in the Bern Township and is the only Ketner listed in the state of Pennsylvania. The will of Henry Ketner, Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania is dated 17 November 1789 and was probated 29 May 1792. It is found in will book B, page 28.
