Could this possibly be the Unknown Kern, who died bef. 1735 perhaps in Pennsylvania, whose wife Catherine married second, Matthew Sharp abt. 1735, whose sons George and Michael "Carn" were named in Matthew Sharp's will in 1750 in Augusta County, Virginia? More research may be necessary. Perhaps a will of Johan Kern could help, if it could be located.
