Joel's obituary reads, "JOEL L. OBERLEY, 23, of Bloomington, formerly of New Haven, died Sunday at home. He was born in Allen County. He was preceded in death by his brother , Sean, and by his father, Roger A. Surviving are his mother, Peggy L. Oberley of Bloomington; his son, Syrus L. of Bloomington; his fiance, Jessica Y. Hammond of Bloomington; and his grandparents, Harold and Mary Ellen Oberley of Monroeville and Leland E. and Lorene V. Lynch of Grabill. Services at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, New Haven, with calling an hour before services. Calling also from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, with a gathering at 8:30 p.m. Burial in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to the family.
