Will Transcript
- In the Name of God Amen, I Job Jones of Halifax County and State of Virginia being at this time very weak in body but of sound Mind and Memory (thanks be to God), do make this my last will and Testament beareing ate this fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty one Utterly revoking and making void all former wills and testaments made by me and declaring this my last and only Will and Testament in manner and form following Viz.
- Imprimises I Resign up my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my Body to the Earth to turn to dust Hoping thro the merits of my savour to raise again to life Everlasting ~
- Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Sarah Jones all my personal estate Goods and Cattle for her use during her widowhood she paying all debts tat shall come against the said Estate or to Express my Self More clearly it is my will that my beloved wife Sarah Jones shall have the plantation on which I now live with all my Land and all my Cattle and Goods of every kind to use during her life or Widowhood and if my Wife See Cause she many sell the land and apply the profit arising there from towards the bringing up my Children and if my Wife should not sell the Land during her life or widowhood it is my will that it be then sold to gather with all the remainder of my Estate goods and Cattle and equally divided among all my Children and I do Constitute and appoint Charles Mullens Senior and my Wife Sarah Jones Executor and Executrix of this my last and only Will and Testament
