From Revolutionary Pension File of Peter Lanter, father of Joanna [Lanter] Huffman:
Joanna Huffman state that I am a daughter of Peter & Hannah Lanter and believe that I was born on the 10th day of June 1787 & believe that to be the genuine family record of my age, and that my Father & Mother was married previous to my birth, I have examined the declaration made by my Mother and believe it contains the truth, I have often heard my Father the said Peter Lanter speak of his services of the Revolution, as stated by her, and know that he was reputed & generally believed by his neighbors to have been a Soldier of the Revolution, & that he died at the time stated by her; she has remained a widow ever since his death. Given under my hand this 28th day of March 1839
