JIMMY MCKINLEY QUEEN Mr. Jimmy McKinley Queen, age 56, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away, Sunday, August 13, 2000 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville. Mr. Queen was born in Union County, Georgia on Tuesday, February 22, 1944, a son of the late Howard Mansfield Queen and Mary Reatha Hill Queen. He had lived in Tucker, Georgia for many years, but moved back to Union County 13 years ago. He was a member of Youngstown Baptist Church. Mr. Queen was a contributor to The Union County Historical Society, and contributed to all charities. Survivors include three sisters: Charlene Turner, of Gainesville; Sue Nichols, of Smyrna; and Carol Dodd, of Gainesville; several nieces and nephews also survive, along with many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 16, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral home with Rev. Guy Bradley, and Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music was presented by Heath Slaton and Kyle Hatcher. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Terry Queen, Curtis Young, Jack Howington, Joe Dyer, Cecil Hill and Charles Hill. Interment was in The Queen Cemetery. Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of arrangements. |
