I was sorta searching for a link to a Heston Swim, who died in 1971, for my Online database because I don't have his parents or anything. While I was searching, I found your gedcom on Rootsweb. If you ever find anyting on a Heston Swim, 1903-1971, buried Highland Cemetery in Huntington, WV, I would appreciate if you could share the information. I know his wife and all the dates for both, but do not know his parents. Also I have some documents on the Swims in your database and some you don't have yet. They are attached. Back in 1989 a woman named Carrie Eldridge did a cemetery reading project for Cabell County. She used the WPA list to help compile her works and there is a page for the Johnson Cemetery. This cemetery was removed in the 1960's to make room for the Interstate that was under construction in our area. There were over 700 graves in this cemetery and most were removed to Dock's Creek in Wayne County. Even then, about 112 graves were unaccounted for and not included in those reinterred. Listed on the list of those buried in Johnson Cemetery and removed to Dock's Creek are the following: Swim, Jerome Swim, Jerrs (this is Jerry Myers Swim) Swim, Maybell Swim, Robert Swim, Richard Swim, Christina Swim, Hawkins Cabell County Cemeteries by Carrie Eldridge From the death certificates I know that William Robert (the above Robert Swim) and Phillip S. are sons of Jerome and Christina. William married Jennie McGraw and Richard Ray and Jerry Myers (above) are their sons. Phillip S. is supposed to be buried in Johnson too, according to the death certificate, but his name did not appear on the list in Carrie's book. Anyway, since you have some of these people I thought you might like this new information for you files. I haven't updated mine yet, but I am dignbones on the World Connect Project at Rootsweb. I hope to send up a new file tonight so take a look. Candie |
