Parentage of Jennet Craig

As listed in the following two Chalkley's records, Jennet Craig was a daughter of John Craig and Jennet "Jane" [Unknown]. John Craig died in 1758, and his widow Jennet "Jane" married 2nd, to John Gray. Some researchers have Jennet as "Jennet Gray", daughter of Jennet's second marriage with John Gray, but the records below firmly support her as the "only child of John Craig, deceased":

Page 314.- [abt. July 1780] - John Gray and Jeane, late Jeane Craige, administrators of John Craige, deceased, and William Gullet and Jeane ( ), late Jane Craige, only child and heiress of John Craige, dsceased, of Greenbrier County, to Thomas Rodgers, in Beverley Manor, conveyed to John Craige, deceased. 20th March, 1754." (Note: date land was bought not date of death)
