Obituary 

 Jeannette Van-Dernald Laug, 92, of Bolens Creek Road, died Thursday, July 1, 1999 in Spruce Pine Hospital.  She was a native of Chicago, Illinois and the wife of Jerry Laug, who died on June 1, 1999.  In 1980 she and her husband moved to the mountains of Burnsville.  She was a member of Burnsville Presbyterian Church.  Jeannette will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.
 Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law: Richard Gerald and Penny Laug of Plantation, Florida; two brothers: Cornie Van-Dernald and Bart Van-Dernald; three grandchildren: Diane Barker, Pam Hewlett and Darrell Tilley; five great-grandchildren; Douglas Mcdowell, Melissa Hewlett, Michael Hewlett, Blake Tilley and Skylar Tilley.
 A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 2, 1999 in the chapel of Holcomb Brothers Funeral Home.  The Rev. Lucas Grile will officiate.
