Jeanne M. Lamlein (nee Bauslaugh), 83, of Sheffield Lake, died Thursday March 23, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain while surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. She was born January 28, 1934 in Port Huron, Michigan and had resided in the Sheffield Lake and Lorain areas for over 50 years.

Jeanne graduated from St. Stephen High School in Port Huron, Michigan and attended Port Huron Junior College.

While living in Port Huron, she worked as a dental assistant and for the Women’s Benefit Association. When she moved to Ohio, she worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for various physicians in the Urology field for over 35 years before retiring.

Jeanne was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake where she served on church council, was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Ladies Guild and served on the PTA at St. Thomas School.

Jeanne was involved in many Sheffield Lake community affairs including the Charter Review Commission, Zoning Review Board and the planning and building of the Sheffield Lake Community Center.

She was a member of the Jaycette’s and served all offices including president. She enjoyed family gatherings, laughing with family and friends, cooking, casino bus trips and an occasional glass of good wine.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Karl “Jim” Lamlein; children: Debi Lamlein, Linda Orr (Klaus), Bryan Lamlein (Diana Campbell), Laurie James (Russell, Jr), Kurt Lamlein (Karoline Yates) and David Lamlein (Sherri); 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and brother-in-law John Hanchon. She was preceded in death by her parents Tom & Helen Bauslaugh (nee Whitmore) and sister Nancy Hanchon.

The family will receive friends Tuesday March 28th from 2:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 29th at 9:15 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 521 Harris Rd, Sheffield Lake. The Rev. Stephen Shields, pastor, will officiate. Cremation will follow.
