Facts and Events
Hans (or Jean) Jaeger is understood to be the baker in Dabo castle. His marriage to Catherine Grossmun was recorded in the church at Romanswiller but the marriage seems to have taken place at the Castle of Dabo. As a middle class family the Jaeger family owe their fortunes to the Leiningen family, the Counts of Dabo. In 1621 Count Leiningen of Dagsburg (Dabo), authorised Hans to purchase glassware in Wassersoupe village in nearby Abreschviller. In 1627 Count Leiningen-Dabo gave him patches of forest and pasture to fatten twenty-five pigs. |
