The names of Jean and Anne-Marie and their ages (converted to birth dates) were found on Pierre's birth certificate which was furnished to me by Roy Clamme in August 1997. This information was confirmed by contact with Jean-Pierre CLAMME, a member of our family in France in June 1998. Jean-Pierre signed in on Matt Clamme's web page in early June and we returned the contact. John Pierre provided us with a copy of "Famille CLAM" which his father purchased from a genealogy society in 1990. The information on Pierre's brothers and sisters is from "Famille CLAM." It also goes back 4 additional generations. Only the male members of the family are listed and the name is listed variously as CLAM, CLAMME, and KLAMM.

Also mentioned in the translation of Pierre's birth certificate was that a Nicolas Clamme was a witness. According the "Famille CLAM", this was Jean's brother. The most surprising thing about the certificate is that Pierre was born on 31 Dec 1842. Previous records had his birth date as 1 Jan 1842.
