Jean Adair married 19dec1807 at Nielston and 21dec1807 at Glasgow James SHARP; the Glasgow record gives her father as Patrick (IGI). From the Decennial indexes of services of heirs in Scotland (rootsweb): “Jean Adair or Sharp (and Margaret Adair or Black), to her (their) mother Janet Donaldson wife of Patrick Adair, bleacher, Cross Arthurlie, 11oct1824” (ancestry.com message). In 1841 the following Sharp family lived at India St., Barony, Lanarkshire: James (b. 1781 outside census county), cotton broker, Jean (1786 outside census county), Thomas (1826 Lanarkshire), Cl., Janet (1816 Lanarkshire) and Jane (1816 Lanarkshire) (census). Scottish archives have the will of Jean Sharp alias Adair, widow of James Sharp, merchant in Glasgow, reg. 18jul1854 Glasgow.
