"Greatest Mackerel Run in Years Draws Hundreds to Local Shores. SUPPLY SEEMS TO BE WITHOUT END. Fish Likely to Remain Here Two or Three Weeks. The most plentiful supply of mackerel recorded on the Quincy shores for probably half a century is luring hundreds of fishermen, both residents and non-residents, to this city daily. "The most mackerel I've seen since I've been here, and I came to the beach 46 years ago," was the succinct way Jason Harvey of Houghs Neck, 83-year-old boatman and fisherman, described it today... Several times mackerel have actually jumped out of the water and landed on the float at the Harvey boat house..." {1933 Sept. 28, Quincy Patriot Ledger, reprinted 29 Sept 2008,<http://www.wickedlocal.com/quincy/town_info/history/x1157482197/Patriot-Ledger-Archives-This-week-in-history-September-28-October-4>
