JARRET MEDLIN was born on January 23, 1810 in Bedford County, Tennessee. He later moved with his family to Cole County, Missouri about 1830.
Jarret was a blacksmith. He was also a miller.
Jarret became a charter member of the Mount Gilead Baptist Church (First Baptist Church) California, Missouri on 1833.
Jarret married REBECCA ALLEE, the daughter of NICHOLAS ALLEE and TEMPA ANN HILL, on August 1, 1833 in Cole County, Missouri.
On November 9, 1835, the United States deeded 40 acres of land to Jarret Medlin in Section 5, Township 44-N, Range 15-W, Cole County, Missouri.
Jarret served in the Cole County Rifleman - 1 Brigade, 6 Division, Captain William Robinson commanding. He served as a private. The dates of his service were from September 22, 1838 through October 2, 1838.
The 1840 census shows Jarret living with his family in Carroll Township, Platte County, Missouri.
On January 10, 1840 Jarret purchased 80 acres of land in Section No. 33, Township No. 45, Range No 15, Cole County, Missouri.
On January 10, 1840 Jarret purchased 40 acres of land in Section No. 4, Township No. 45, Range No 15, Cole County, Missouri.
On November 10, 1841 Jarret purchased 80 acres of land in Section No. 5, Township No. 45, Range No 15, Cole County, Missouri.
On October 3, 1843 Jarret purchased land in Township No. 52, North of Range No. 34 West, Section 3, Platte County, Missouri.
On April 1, 1846, the United States deeded 153.55 acres of land to Jarret Medlin in Section 3, Township 52-N, Range 34-W, Platte County, Missouri.
In 1847 Jarret owned 80 acres in Moniteau County, Missouri.
The 1850 census shows Jarret living with his family in 58th District, Moniteau County, Missouri.
On September 23, 1856 Jarret Medlin and Rebecca his wife sold 40 acres to William Loving for $175.
The 1860 census shows Jarret living with his family in Scott Township, Linn County, Kansas Territory.
The 1870 census shows Jarret living with his family in Newton Township, Barton County, Missouri.
On March 5, 1875, William A Rector and his wife deeded land to Jarret Medlin in Section 26, Township 33, Range 29, Barton County, Missouri.
Jarret was elected County Judge for Second District in Moniteau County, Missouri in 1878 and 1880 as a member of the Green Back Party.
The 1880 census shows Jarret living with his family in Moreau Township, Moniteau County, Missouri.
Jarret died on May 25, 1899 in Moniteau County, Missouri. He is buried in Green Grove Church Cemetery, Moniteau County, Missouri.
