Janice Young, 81, passed away at 6:47 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at her home in Lima.
Janice was born on September 25, 1941 in Lima, Ohio, to Andrew and Nellie (Crumine) Riemesch.
On February 8, 1964 she married Dale A. Young who preceded her in death on June 13, 2015.
Janice was a member of Faith Cristian Church "The Church on the Hill". She worked for Lima Manor and HCF. Janice was also a volunteer at Allen County Museum, Allen County Board of Election, Johnny Appleseed Park, Allen County Convention & Visitor Bureau Blue Caboose.
She is survived by her daughters, Monica (Judd) Fancher of Yorktown, VA and Michelle Truesdale of Lima; grandchildren: Joel Truesdale, Zachery Truesdale, Sydney Fancher, Colby Fancher, and Andrea Houston; great-grandson, Lincoln Truesdale; sister, Andrea K. (Riemesch) Leugurs; brother-in-law, Frank Shaw Jr.; and nieces and nephews: Craig (Marilyn) Shaw, Jessica (Bond) Boedecker, Natalie Swaney, and Nate Swaney.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and sisters, Norma Jean Shaw and Shirley Ann (Ned) Rudy.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Faith Christian Church. Rev. Terri Haithcock will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Christian Church or Johnny Appleseed Parks.
