1866 - Birth Registration: Jane Ann, daughter of Richard NEWMAN, shoemaker, and Mary Ann NEWMAN, formerly JACOBS. Informant was Joe MCGURK, constable, Georges Bay.

1871 - Death Registration: Jane Ann NEWMAN, cordwainer's child, aged 5 years 8 months. Cause of death was accidental fracture of skull and dislocation of neck. Information from coroner, B. SHAW Esq., by letter.

1871 - Inquest, dated 27 September, found that "Jane Ann NEWMAN met her death on the twenty third day of September instant at the River Ringarooma, by the falling of a log of wood, accidentally casually and by misfortune met her death." Among the witnesses were Donald CAMPBELL, William GREEN George WILCOCK, Elisha WILMOT and Thomas BOOTH.
