The identification of Jane as a child of Edward Mobley and Sarah (Stephens) Meadows is based on indirect evidence from Census records, including her association the association of Dupuy, Meadows and Stephens families in the 1850 census,^[1] the appearance of Dupuy children in Edward and Sarah's household in 1860,^[3] and the presence of an otherwise unidentified daughter of Edward and Sarah in the 1840 census.^[2]
