Jane Cassanet was born on 23rd October 1800 and baptised two months later in the parish of St Giles without Cripplegate in the City of London. She was the daughter of Ann Cassanet, formerly Dean, and her husband Peter Vincent Cassanet, a teacher of mathematics, who was a Frenchman who had moved to England around the time of the French Revolution.

Sadly young Jane died when she was just under a year old, being buried on 18th October 1801 at Bethnal Green.
