Worked for a large paint company and was contracted to supervise the painting of several buildings at Yale University in the summer of 1929. He was living in New Haven while the project was going on, and died of a heart attack there just before the stock market crash.Citation needed

[This does not jibe with 1930 census which finds him still alive, paint salesman, living in Elmsworth, Allegheny Co., PA, with wife Mabel and children.]
