SKETCHES OF WALTER WALL AND SOME OF HIS DESCENDANTS by: J. Sutton Wall of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, March 31, 1905

"The Wall family remained together in New Jersey until 1766, when Walter (b 1747) and James Wall (b 1745), together with Benjamin, William, and Thomas Applegate, and others, emigrated to western Pennsylvania and settled on lands in the so called "Jersey Settlement", now Allegheny County, PA, which they subsequently purchased from the State and where they raised their families and died, leaving behind them an honorable pioneer record and numerous descendants".

THE FAMILY OF RICHARD SPARKS, of Middlesex County, NJ and Allegheny County, PA:

Descendants of the Wall family have long stated that James and Walter Wall had gone to the Forks of the Yough in 1766 and had returned for their families in 1768. Yet the "Interest to Commence" date on each of their warrants was given as the first day of March 1769.
