Fairfield Daily Ledger August 16, 2005 James Tullis James Mack Tullis, 89, of Fairfield, died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at Parkview Care Center. The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Jane and Jim Tullis Endowment of the Fairfield Public Library. Online condolences may be left at www.behnerfh.com. Mr. Tullis was born June 14, 1916, in Decatur, the son of Jack and Pearl Hicks Tullis. He married Jane Musick Timmons Oct. 18, 1943, in Princeton, Mo. She died July 18, 1998. Mr. Tullis lived in Fairfield for 54 years. He was a U.S. Navy Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was an insurance agent for Monarch Life Insurance of Springfield, Mass. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Fairfield Clinton Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 15. He also was a member of Howard Johnson Coffee Club, Fairfield Lions Club and Walton Club. Mr. Tullis was a former member of the Fairfield City Council. He also was an avid golfer and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Survivors include one son, Tim Tullis and wife Gerri of Elgin, Ill.; one sister, Sally Pettus of Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
