"2 James3 Treat (James,2 Richard1), born April 1, or 12, 1666 (gravestone), in Wethersfield, Conn.; died Feb. 18, 1742, aged seventy-six (gravestone), in Wethersfield; … In 1702, and 1703, he was a selectman, and in 1717, on a committee to seat persons in the meeting house. Both he and his wife were members of the church in Wethersfield. He died in rather poor circumstances. His will was dated Aug. 31, 1739, and exhibited in court, May 19, 1742. A large double stone is erected to the memory of James and Prudence Treat."

Prudence3 Chester … married on 17 December 1691 in Wethersfield, Connecticut, … James Treat, Jr., son of James Treat and Rebecca Lattimer, born 1 April 1666 in Wethersfield, Connecticut (Barbour citing LR 2:29); and died there 18 February 1741/42, at age 76 (Barbour citing VR 1:19), buried in the Village Cemetery there (Hale 51). The will of James Treat, dated 31 August 1739 and proved 19 May 1742, names his eldest son Charles, second son James, and youngest son Oliver; daughters Abigail, Prudence, and Jerusha; and Eunice the daughter of his deceased daughter Eunice Riley. It does indicate that there is a widow but she is not named. His three sons were appointed executors (Manwaring 3:464-465)."
James Treat's widow is not mentioned in Manwaring's abstract of his will.

Treat, James, Wethersfield. Will dated 31 August, 1739: I, James Treat, Sen., of Wethersfield, being greatly advanced in years, do make this my last will and testament: Imprimis: I give to my eldest son Charles Treat and to his heirs forever the following pieces or parcels of land lying in Wethersfield: one piece where the sd. Charles's dwelling house now stands, containing 32 acres more or less; also one piece in the great meadow, at a place called the dry swamp; also, 1 1-2 acres upon the north side of my lott called Send Home; also one acre on the west side of my lott called Nine Acres; also half an acre on the south side of my lott in sd. meadow called Fill Barn; also 2 acres of my lott in West Swamp butted east on land of John Edwards, west on the Great Plaine, south on John Rose and north on land in this my will given to my son James Treat; also the 1-2 of my right in and to all the common and undivided land lying within the Township of Wethersfield. I give to my 2nd son James Treat (various parcels of land). I give to my youngest son Oliver Treat (various parcels of land); also all that part of my lott lying in the Parish of Newington not before given to my son James Treat; also 1-4 part of my right in and to the common and undivided land lying in Wethersfield; also I give to my son Oliver one yoke of oxen, one team horse and all my team tackling and husbandry implements. I give to my daughter Abigail £31 in money. I give to my daughter Prudence £100 in money. I give to my daughter Jerusha, the wife of Wait Wells, the sum of £50 money; which sums of £50 to my daughter Jerusha and £31 to my daughter Abigail makes them equal, with what they have already received, with my daughter Prudence. I give to Eunice, the daughter of my daughter Eunice Riley decd., £10 money, to be paid her at the age of 18 years. I appoint my sons, Charles, James and Oliver, to be executors to this my will.
