1805 - 20 April 1805, William Jones of RCNC to James Queen of the same, 60 dollars, 40 acres on the SE side of First Little Broad River joining Hogue, being part of three grants, one to Benjamin Shaw, one to Beaty and Armstrong, and one to William Jones. Wit. Andr. Taylor, John Jones. #291, 25 August 1810.[230]

1811 - 14 January 1811, William Queen of Rutherford Co to James Queen of the same, 400 dollars, negro girl Milia aged 30 years. Wit. Jesse Benton, Jas. Mitchell, Littleton Sims. #17, 26 Feb. 1811.[231] - also, 27 February 1811 William L. Queen and James Queen to Adam Mooney, all of RCNC, $200, 43 acres on the main fork of First Little Broad River joining said Mooney, widow Hogue and Christopher Mooney, being part of grants to Benj. Shaw, Beaty and Armstrong, and Wm. Jones. Wit. Jacob Holifield, Christy Moony. #297, 3 October 1812.[232]

1816 - 26 Dec. Rutherford Co. will of Adam Mooney mentions that he purchased land from James Queen.

1820 - the federal census for Rutherford Co. NC includes: page 362 - “Merida” [Meredith?] p. 384 - James Queen, age 26-44 (310010-12010) P. 393 Hency Queen, age 45 or older (000001-00001) and Joseph Queen, age 16-25, (00100-20110). Nearby are numerous Upton households. [233]

1827 - Rutherford Co., NC marriage bond for Polly Queen and David Hall, dated March 11, 1827, bondsman James Queen.[234]

1827 - Rutherford Co., NC Road Docket, 1827 – October 1827 The Court appointed William Hunt junr. Overseer of the road from Brier Creek at the widow Blankenships to the widow Graysons with John Hix Junr., William Hunt Senr., Elisha Hunt, Absalom Hunt’s hands, Martin Hhicks, Queen Hicks, JAMES QUEEN, Doctor Jones, Harvey McFarland, Elijah Hunt, Robert Hall, William West, Wm. McFarland Junr., ISAAC QUEEN, James Lewis, Wm. H. Divinney.[235]

1832 - Rutherford Co., NC Estates, Orphans, and Others, January 1832 The court appointed William Grayson administrator on all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of Isaac Grayson, dec’d – he entered into bond to Montfort Stokes Esqr. Governor &c in £50 with JAMES QUEEN for security, and was duly sworn as such. He then prayed an order of sale of said estate which was granted.[236]

1833 - a James Queen received a land grant for 100 acres in Rutherford Co., NC 20 dec. 1833.[237]

1833 – BGSOTC 36(2):68 (Rutherford Co., NC Road Docket, 1833) December 1833 The court appoints Elijah Hunt overseer of the road from the ford of Bryer Creek to the fork at Robt. Divinney's with the hands of Wm. Grayson, Jinkins Devaney, Wm. Hunt, Absalom Hunt, Jonathan H. Jones, Wm. McFarlin Jr., John Hicks, Lewis Vanzant, Josiah Jones, Saml. McFarland, George Painter, Spencer Melton, JAMES QUEEN, Benja. Devaney, Thomas Payne, Alexander Going, Martin Sisk, Bartlet Sisk & Thomas West to work. (Wm Grayson former overseer).

1835 - James Queen, Jr., Charles Queen, Pleasant Queen, Richard Queen, J.A.Queen (all in Taylor’s precinct), and Hugh Queen and Manton Queen (both in Jolin’s precinct) voted in an election for the 12th Congressional District of NC, held on August 13, 1835, in Rutherford Co., NC. [238] No other Queens listed in Rutherford Co.

1841 – RCNC Record of estates, Re-B, p. 54, Sale bill of Absalom Hunt deceased, 24 February 1841. List of purchasers includes James Queen, ….James Queen Cr. (Sr.?), …… and James A. Queen, among many others, including several interrelated surnames, like Deviney, Upton, Melton, Towery and Grayson.[239]

1843 - Cleveland Co., NC Records of Estates, May 1843, page 70: List of property of the estate of James Smith dec’d sold at the late dwelling house of the dec’d. 9 February 1843 by (administrators). (Purchasers included JAMES QUEEN among many others.)[240]

1845 - Rutherford Co. NC will of James Queen dated 22 March 1844, recorded June Court 1845, names wife Sarah Queen and son Hampton Queen. He also gives to Jameson Queen a portion of his plantation, but the will evidently doesn’t specify relationship.[241] Jamison Queen and James Haul appointed executors. (Other sources say that Jameson was son of this James Queen.) The will was witnessed by Alfred Jones and Edward Upton. No date - Roger Adcock reports that a Cleveland Co., NC descendant states that James and Sarah Jones Queen were the parents of Mary (abt. 1801- ), Pleasant (abt 1810 - ), Letty (1815- ), Alfred J. (1817 - ), Richard Merideth (1817 - ), James Jameson (1818 - ) and Hamilton (or Hampton (no birth date).[242]

1846 - there is a young child named James Queen, age 7, in Lincoln Co., NC.[243] Names of parents aren’t given on this list. This James may be the orphan son of James, above.
