- SHREWSBURY - James Edward Parmenter, 25, formerly of Shirley, and now of 34-K Brandywine Drive, died Feb. 4 by accidental drowning. He was born in Ayer, the son of the late John F. Parmenter. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Helen Parmenter Crowe and stepfrather, Henry Crowe, of Shirley. He attended the Shirley schools and graduated from Ayer High School. He was an auxiliary fireman in the Town of Amesbury. Mr. Parmenter is survived by three brothers, Donald A. Dwyer of Shirley, Paul MacAloney of Florida, William MacAloney of Hollywood, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Janice McCann of New Sermina, Fla., Mrs. Joan Pepin of Groton, and Mrs. Annie Ellis of Shirley, and several nieces and nephews.
