Facts and Events
About Donald MacAloney
Donald Arthur MacAloney was born in 1936 in Fitchburg, Worcester County, Massachusetts, son of Joseph Dwyer and Helen MacAloney. Donald was one of three sons born out-of-wedlock to Helen MacAloney, who was no doubt unable to adequately care for her older sons, as it was at the height of the Great Depression. He was likely placed in orphans or foster homes, similar to his older half-brother Willard R. MacAloney, who spent most of his childhood in similar circumstances. Later, Donald was adopted by his birth-father, Joseph Dwyer and changed his surname to Dwyer at that time. Donald Dwyer passed away on 27 January 2010 in Cherokee County, North Carolina.
